The business conditions diffusion index (D.I.) for business owners in unincorporated enterprises during this term was -63.8, down 1.5 points from the previous term (April-June 2005).

Theexpected DI on business conditions for the next term (October- December 2005) is -57.6, an estimated 6.2 point improvement from the current term (July-September 2005).

Unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) was 4.5%, an increase of 0.3 points from the previous month.

That for men was 4.5%, an increase of 0.2 points over the previous month, while that for women increased by 0.3 points to 4.5%.

The ratio of active job openings to applicants (seasonally adjusted) was 0.98, which rose by 0.01 points from the previous month.

The number of employees (seasonally adjusted) unchanged from the previous month.

The number of unemployed people decreased to 3.04 million for the 29th consecutive month from a year arlier.

The number of unemployed people by duration of unemployment, was ; "more than a year" 0.95 million, followed by ‘less than 3 months’ 0.93 million.

Contractual cash earnings (for establishments with 5 or more employees) increased by 0.5% from a year earlier, and total cash earnings increased by 0.5%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in manufacturing (for establishments with 5 or more employees, seasonally adjusted) increased by 0.7% from the previous month.
