Q8: What are the laws and regulations regarding work hours?
A8:

The laws and regulations covering work hours presently set eight hours per day and 40 hours per week as the upper limit, in principle. However, flexible systems for work hours are becoming more and more common. The provisions in the Labour Standards Law regarding work hours state that the number of work hours shall be based on the actual number of hours worked, in principle, and that the employer is responsible for keeping track of the normal number of work hours.
