WORKSHOP ON INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION AND LABOUR MARKET IN ASIA
 
Tokyo, 17 February, 2006

The Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training (JILPT) annually organizes the Workshop on International Migration and Labour Market in Asia, in collaboration with the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).

 

The main goal of a series of workshops is to bring together key policy makers and experts in order to identify and analyze migration issues and discuss policy frameworks for enabling orderly migration flows in Asian countries. Specific objectives of the 12 th workshop include, inter alia , to: 1) address issues concerning bilateral agreements on labour migration and other forms of labour recruitment of foreigners in Asian countries; and 2) discuss recent developments in migration movements and policies as well as the role of migration in trends.
