The Consumer Price Index was 100.1, unchanged from a year earlier. Omitting Fresh food, it was 99.9, a decrease of 0.1% from a year earlier. And in the Ward –areas of Tokyo in May, it was 100.4, unchanged from a year earlier. Omitting Fresh food, it was 100.2, unchanged from a year earlier.

The unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) was 3.8%, decreased by 0.2 points from the previous month. That for men was 4.0%, decreased by 0.1 points from the previous month, that for women was 3.6%, decreased by 0.3 points from the previous month.

The number of unemployed persons decreased by 160 thousand from a year earlier to 2.68 million.

The number of employees (seasonally adjusted) increased by 100 thousand people from the previous month to 55.4 million.

The ratio of active job openings to applicants (seasonally adjusted) was 1.05, increased by 0.02 points from the previous month.

Total amount of cash earnings (for business establishments with 5 or more employees) decreased by 0.7% from a year earlier, 278,193 yen, and scheduled cash earnings decreased by 0.8% from a year earlier, 271,310yen.

Non-scheduled hours worked in manufacturing (for business establishments with 5 or more employees, seasonally adjusted) increased by 0.7% from the previous month.
